Gwagwalada Area Council Speaker Dies in Car Crash

On Wednesday, a fatal motor accident occurred near Sheda Village along the Abuja-Lokoja highway, resulting in the deaths of Mohan Ibrahim Ibwa, the Speaker of Gwagwalada Area Council, and his aide. The crash happened around 3:10 PM when their Mercedes Benz collided head-on with a truck.

Three individuals were traveling in the Mercedes Benz at the time of the accident. Eyewitnesses reported that the accident involved a head-on collision with the truck.

Following the crash, the victims were rushed to Abuja Teaching Hospital for treatment but were later referred to a hospital in Gwagwalada. Unfortunately, both Ibwa and his aide were pronounced dead.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident and stated that two other individuals were also taken to the hospital. The Speaker and his aide were reportedly returning to Gwagwalada from a political meeting in Kwali when the accident occurred.

Their remains were later deposited at the mortuary in Gwagwalada.
