Abuja Centenary City Gets Airborne

The Abuja Centenary City Project, initiated by the Federal Government in 2014, aimed to create a Smart Green City that would attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and boost Nigeria's economic and social indices. However, the project faced delays and controversies, leading to frustration among stakeholders.

Recently, the project received a boost with the awarding of a contract to Julius Berger for primary infrastructure development. The project, structured to harmonize with the natural landscape, promises to offer a contemporary cosmopolitan lifestyle and elevate Abuja's status as a capital city.

The master plan, designed by MessrsDar Consultants, aims to create a multifunctional development that will redefine Africa's skyline and enhance Nigeria's global urban development standing. The project, with an initial investment of $18 billion, is seen as a significant opportunity to create new value and attract international investment.
