Abuja, Lagos, Rivers, Ogun, Others Faces Three-Day Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorms

Several states in Nigeria, including Abuja, Lagos, Rivers, and Ogun, are currently experiencing heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, with a possibility of flooding. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather alert warning residents, motorists, farmers, and airline operators to take precautionary measures from Sunday to Tuesday.

Moderate rain is expected in states like Jigawa, Taraba, Bauchi, and Gombe in the morning, followed by thunderstorms and rain in the afternoon. Flood alerts have been raised for states like Kebbi, Gombe, Bauchi, Plateau, and others.

NiMet has advised residents to activate emergency response plans, avoid driving in heavy rain, secure loose objects, and stay updated on weather reports for safe planning.
