Abuja Plans Healthier and Greener Capital City by 2026

Abuja is embarking on a journey to improve its health and environmental systems by 2026, focusing on strengthening emergency care, advancing women's health, and expanding access to services. Led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Barrister Chief Nyesom Wike, the Health Service Environment Secretariat (HSE) is implementing long-term strategies to build a healthier, greener, and more resilient capital city.

The initiative aims to ensure that Abuja's health system and environment reflect a vision of a modern, equitable, and sustainable capital. Key areas of focus include increasing sustainability, reforming critical care services, and establishing oxygen plants in various hospitals across the territory.
