Wike Inspects Infrastructure Upgrades at WTC Abuja

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), conducted a site inspection of infrastructure upgrades around the World Trade Center (WTC) Abuja, focusing on enhancing accessibility and drainage in the Central Business District (CBD). The upgrades are part of a broader strategy to improve public infrastructure, including the design of drainage and sewer systems and the rehabilitation of select roads.

The CBD is a vital commercial zone, and the improvements aim to address persistent concerns regarding stormwater control, especially during heavy rainfall and peak traffic hours. Wike emphasized the importance of reliable infrastructure for the CBD's performance and its attractiveness to businesses and residents.

The project is being executed by Julius Berger, which includes expanding drainage channels and improving sewer systems to facilitate vehicular movement and reduce bottlenecks. Jerome Da, Chief Executive Officer of Churchgate Group, expressed appreciation for the ongoing work, highlighting its significance for the viability of developments in the area.
