Access Bank Elevates Two Executives in Leadership Shuffle
Access Bank has promoted Oluseyi Kumapayi to Deputy MD for African operations and appointed Olanrewaju Bamisebi as technology chief, both effective late October.
Following Central Bank of Nigeria approval, Access Bank Plc has unveiled two key executive appointments. Oluseyi Kumapayi moves into the Deputy Managing Director role overseeing African Subsidiaries, while Olanrewaju Bamisebi takes on the Executive Director position for Information Technology and Digitalisation.
These changes, effective October 27 and October 28, 2026 respectively, were communicated to the Nigerian Exchange Limited on October 31. Kumapayi's transition marks a promotion from within.
He had served as Executive Director for African Subsidiaries since November 2020. Moving forward, his responsibilities will expand to encompass profitability enhancement and operational performance improvements throughout the bank's African footprint, though he retains oversight of continental operations.
Bamisebi's appointment elevates technology leadership to the executive board. Previously, he held the title Executive Director for Information Technology and Digitalisation at parent company Access Holdings.
His focus will involve driving the bank's digital transformation and strengthening its technology foundations. These appointments underscore Access Holdings' dual strategic agenda: maximizing returns from its current African banking operations while reinforcing technological competencies throughout the institution.
Nigeria's banking supervisor has granted regulatory approval to both executives, demonstrating compliance with governance frameworks governing financial sector leadership.
