Access Bank, FirstBank, Zenith Bank Lead in Branch Networks

Access Bank, FirstBank, and Zenith Bank have emerged as the banks with the largest branch networks in Nigeria, according to an analysis from the 2025 annual report. Access Bank leads with 554 branches nationwide and 700 across Africa, reporting a total asset increase of 24.54% to ₦51.56 trillion and a customer deposit rise of 53.44% to ₦34.56 trillion.

FirstBank follows closely with 550 branches in Nigeria and 820 across Africa, with total assets of ₦27.25 trillion and customer deposits of ₦18.88 trillion. Zenith Bank ranks third with 406 branches in Nigeria and 450 across Africa, recording total assets of ₦31.46 trillion and customer deposits of ₦24.33 trillion.

The report indicates that despite the rapid growth of digital banking, physical branches remain essential for customer relationships, as stated by Tilewa Adebajo, Chief Executive Officer of CFG Advisory.
