ACPN to Host Conference on Strengthening Nigeria's Healthcare

The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) announced plans to host its 45th Annual International Scientific Conference in Abuja from July 27 to August 1, 2026. The conference will gather stakeholders to deliberate on strategies to strengthen Nigeria's healthcare system and improve access to quality medicine, advancing the country's quest for Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The theme of the conference will address key issues affecting healthcare delivery, medicine supply, health financing, and regulatory practices. Chidi Dozi, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, emphasized the need to examine ways to improve the pharmaceutical supply chain and enhance operational efficiency.

Key speakers include Dr. Kelechi Ohiri, Director General of the NHIA, and Dr.

Muyi Aina, Executive Director of the NPHCDA. Pharm.

Ezeh Ambros Igwekamma, ACPN National Chairman, described the conference as a landmark gathering for the pharmaceutical profession, advocating for the formal recognition of community pharmacists in primary healthcare.
