ACPN to Host 45th International Conference in Abuja

The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) is set to hold its 45th annual international scientific conference in Abuja from July 27 to August 1, 2026. The theme of the conference is "Local Pharmacy Practice, Global Impact." Chidi Dozi, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, stated that the conference will gather local and international delegates, making it one of the largest gatherings of community pharmacists in Africa.

The event aims to address emerging challenges affecting healthcare delivery and the pharmaceutical supply chain, emphasizing the need for stronger institutional frameworks to safeguard investments in the pharmaceutical sector. Keynote speaker Adewal Oyenuga, Managing Director of Evan Therapeutics, will discuss issues surrounding pharmaceutical manufacturing and regulatory compliance.

Ayuba Tanko Ibrahim, President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, described the conference as a watershed moment for the pharmacy profession, aiming to develop a roadmap that strengthens community pharmacy practice and enhances healthcare access across Nigeria.
