Adamawa State Approves N2.2 Billion for Fertiliser Procurement

The Adamawa State Government has approved N2.2 billion for the procurement of assorted fertilisers to support dry-season farming throughout the state. This decision was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Leader Leneke, following the 13th State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in Yola.

The fertiliser procurement includes 46,300 bags aimed at enabling farmers to maximize agricultural production during both rainy and dry seasons. Additionally, the council approved N78.952 million for herbicides and pesticides to further support agricultural activities.

The total contracts and procurements approved by the council amount to about N5 billion, covering various sectors including education and infrastructure. Notably, N1.752 billion was allocated for office blocks at the Adamawa State Post-Primary Schools Management Board, and N627.696 million for infrastructure at the Mega Science and Technical Secondary School in Hong.

This initiative aligns with broader Federal Government efforts to enhance fertiliser availability and agricultural productivity nationwide.
