Adamawa Pensioners Await 1100% Pay Increase to N44,000 Monthly

Adamawa State pensioners are eagerly anticipating a significant increase in their monthly pay from the current N4,000 to a proposed minimum of N44,000. The Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP) in Adamawa State, Mohammed Sali, expressed confidence in Governor Ahmadu Fintiri's commitment to fulfilling this promise.

The ongoing verification exercise aims to ensure genuine pensioners receive the new pay, while also addressing issues like payments to deceased pensioners to prevent fund leakages. Additionally, the NUP is hopeful that the promised N5 billion from the state government will be used to settle outstanding gratuities for pensioners.
