Nigerian Federal Pensioners Demand Fair Treatment, Threaten Protest

Federal pensioners in Nigeria are receiving as little as N12,000 monthly, prompting threats of a nationwide protest if the government fails to pay seven months of arrears and implement pension increments by the end of September. The Chairman of the Coalition of Federal Pensioners in Lagos, Comrade Mukaila Ogunbote, expressed concerns over the inadequate pensions, highlighting the challenges faced by retirees in meeting basic needs like healthcare.

Despite promises of palliative measures, pensioners have not received the necessary payments, leading to frustration and calls for action to address the plight of senior citizens.
