ADC Urges Supreme Court for Timely Judgment Ahead of Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is currently facing a critical situation as it demands a swift verdict from the Supreme Court regarding its leadership tussle. The party's national coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, stated that the outcome of this case is crucial for the ADC's ability to field candidates in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

A letter dated April 28 was sent to Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Keker Ekun, urging the apex court to deliver its judgment by May 5. The ADC's leadership is concerned that any delay could jeopardize their participation in the elections, potentially disenfranchising millions of Nigerians who support the party.

The Supreme Court had previously reserved judgment on April 22, and the ADC's legal counsel, Shuaibu Enejoh Aruwa, emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating that without a timely ruling, the party risks being excluded from the electoral process.
