ADC Welcomes Supreme Court Ruling, Calls for INEC Chair's Resignation

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) expressed its approval of the Supreme Court's ruling that affirmed David Mark as the legitimate chairman of the party. Rauf Aregbesola, the party's national secretary, described the judgment as a clear and valid affirmation of its leadership.

Bolaji Abdullahi, the party's public secretary, emphasized the importance of the ruling in strengthening public trust in Nigeria's judicial system. Despite this victory, the ADC raised concerns about a pattern of interference aimed at weakening opposition parties and insisted that the INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan, should resign due to perceived biases that could undermine the electoral body's impartiality.

The ADC urged its members and stakeholders to remain vigilant in defending democratic principles, asserting that safeguarding democracy extends beyond court victories.
