ADC Suspends Bauchi State Chairman for Anti-Party Activities

The African Democrat Congress (ADC) has suspended its Bauchi State chairman, Mallam Hassan Haruna, for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities. Alhaji Mahmood Hassan Tabla, the party's state chairman, disclosed during a press briefing at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat in Bauchi that Haruna failed to respond to queries and violated the party's constitution.

Haruna was accused of establishing a parallel executive structure within the party, leading to his suspension. The ADC also accused Haruna of defamatory actions and gross misconduct, prompting the establishment of a disciplinary committee in line with the party's constitution.

Despite being issued a formal query, Haruna allegedly issued a press statement and convened a meeting without addressing the party's concerns. The ADC emphasized its commitment to upholding party unity and democracy in Bauchi State.
