ADC explains why Peter Obi will not return to PDP

African Democratic Congress (ADC) Interim National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, clarified that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi would not return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Abdullahi stated that Obi was aware of the issues within the PDP and was seen as a strong contender for the 2027 presidential election.

Despite reports suggesting Obi's potential return to the PDP, the Obidient Movement maintained that Obi remains a member of the Labour Party and is likely to contest the presidency in 2027 from that platform. Abdullahi emphasized that the ADC is confident in its coalition and leadership, and is not concerned about PDP's efforts to attract Obi as a "poster boy" to repair its image.

He highlighted that the PDP's ranking in opposition polls is below the Labour Party, indicating that the PDP is in need of a cure for the issues affecting the party.
