2027 election: I want Peter Obi to return to Labour Party – Datti Baba-Ahmed

Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party's 2023 presidential candidate, expressed his desire for Peter Obi to return to the party for the 2027 election. He criticized the newly formed opposition coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing them of deceiving Nigerians with promises to rescue the nation from underdevelopment.

Datti, who ran alongside Peter Obi in the 2023 election, reaffirmed his loyalty to the former Anambra governor and declared his readiness to serve as Obi's running mate in 2027. Despite Obi's recent engagement with prominent figures in the ADC coalition, Datti insisted that Obi should remain in the Labour Party to fly the flag in the next general election.

He emphasized that the decision to accept another slot in 2027 would depend on the survival of Nigeria's electoral system. Datti highlighted the need for individuals to restore Nigeria and mentioned that he would consider deputizing for two individuals, with Peter Obi.
