ADC Challenges APC's Claims Against Atiku, Cites Tinubu Case

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a smear campaign against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. ADC's Director of Strategic Communications, Phrank Shaibu, stated that APC spokesman Felix Morka lacked legal backing for his allegations against Atiku.

The ADC pointed to a forfeiture case involving President Bola Tinubu, noting that Morka's warnings about Atiku's access to national treasury were hypocritical given that Tinubu's account was subject to US forfeiture proceedings related to narcotics trafficking, resulting in the forfeiture of $460,000. Shaibu referenced a sworn affidavit from a US federal court linking Tinubu to Adegboyega Mueez Akande, a figure in the narcotics case.

The ADC also questioned the authenticity of Tinubu's educational records and refuted claims about his economic achievements, asserting that Nigeria's foreign reserves were reported at $34.39 billion when he took office in May 2023. The ADC emphasized that no convictions or findings of guilt against Atiku were established in the allegations raised by the APC.
