Hayatu-Deen Meets Jonathan, Declares 2027 Presidential Bid

On Friday, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, a presidential aspirant for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), met with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja. The closed-door meeting focused on Nigeria's future and Hayatu-Deen's ambition to contest the 2027 presidential elections.

Hayatu-Deen, who has a background in economics and banking, previously served as the Chairman of the Bureau of Public Enterprises during Jonathan's tenure as Vice President and later as President. He expressed his intention to run for the presidency on the ADC platform and formally informed Jonathan of his decision.

Hayatu-Deen praised Jonathan's statesmanship across Africa and acknowledged his advocacy for democratic growth and electoral integrity. He also commended Jonathan for his contributions to the nation's economic governance reforms.

Jonathan warmly received Hayatu-Deen and wished him success in his political journey ahead of the 2027 general elections.
