Hayatu-Deen Seeks Jonathan's Support for 2027 Elections

On a recent weekend, Moham Hayatu-Deen, the presidential aspirant for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), met with former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in Abuja to discuss the upcoming 2027 general elections. The closed-door meeting underscored their long-standing relationship, which dates back to Jonathan's tenure as president.

Hayatu-Deen, an economist and banker with a career spanning over four decades, officially signaled his interest in the presidential race by picking up his nomination form from the ADC's national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday. During the meeting, Jonathan warmly received Hayatu-Deen and expressed support for his political ambitions.

Hayatu-Deen aims to leverage his extensive experience in both the private and public sectors to address Nigeria's pressing challenges, particularly insecurity, unemployment, and the rising cost of living. In recent weeks, he has intensified consultations with political stakeholders, youth groups, and party members to build support ahead of the ADC primaries.
