ADC speaks on zoning 2027 presidential ticket

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected claims of considering zoning the 2027 presidential ticket, emphasizing its current focus on strengthening the party structure nationwide. The National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that unlike other parties, the ADC is prioritizing building its structure across the country before discussing presidential candidates.

He clarified that while zoning is part of the ADC's agenda, the time for such conversations has not yet arrived. Abdullahi also dismissed allegations of the party pushing northern interests, stating that the ADC will not be blackmailed into adopting any narrative that does not serve the best interests of the party and Nigerians.

He emphasized that the party's goal is to win elections and deliver on its promises to the people, and that zoning and competence are not mutually exclusive in the party's strategic decision-making process.
