ADC Defends Makinde's Remarks as Democratic Warning

Abdullahi clarified that Makinde's remarks were intended as a warning about the dangers of undermining democratic processes in Nigeria, rather than a threat.

He emphasized that the governor's statements were meant to signal the historical consequences of ignoring democratic signals, which could lead to instability. Abdullahi noted that the ADC believes in the importance of free, fair, and credible elections and expressed concern over attempts to silence opposition and shrink democratic space.

The APC had interpreted Makinde's comments as inflammatory, prompting a pushback from opposition figures, including those from the ADC.
