Supreme Court Ruling on ADC Not a Cause for Celebration

Oba Maduabuchi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, expressed that the Supreme Court's decision on April 30, which vacated an order from the Court of Appeal concerning the African Democratic Congress (ADC), should not be a cause for celebration. During an interview on Arise Television's morning show, Maduabuchi criticized the Court of Appeal for overstepping its bounds by making orders that were not sought by the parties involved.

He highlighted that the Supreme Court, led by Justice Moham Lawal Garba, ruled that the Court of Appeal should not have made such orders. Maduabuchi pointed out that the ADC had no business in the Supreme Court as there was no appeal against the Federal High Court's decision.

He also mentioned that the Court of Appeal's order to maintain the status quo regarding David Mark's faction was incorrect, as it did not align with the provisions of the INEC Act.
