ADC Critiques FG's Plan for 'Repentant Terrorists' Reintegration

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly criticized the Nigerian government's plan to reintegrate approximately 800 individuals labeled as "repentant terrorists." In a statement signed by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi at the party's national secretariat in Abuja, the ADC argued that this initiative reflects a dangerous misunderstanding of the existing threat posed by terrorism. The party emphasized that reintegration without a clear process for justice for victims could signal a lack of accountability and potentially encourage further acts of terrorism.

The ADC described the government's approach as prioritizing rehabilitation over justice, which undermines the fight against terrorism. They expressed concerns that the plan lacks transparency and safeguards to ensure that only genuinely repentant individuals are reintegrated into society.
