ADC Criticizes APC for Lenient Terrorism Rhetoric

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has countered the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its lenient rhetoric towards terrorists, describing them as enemies of Nigeria. ADC spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi criticized comments attributed to the nation's security adviser and the Chief of Army Staff, which reportedly referred to terrorists using familial terms like "brother" and "son." Abdullahi argued that such language blurs moral and legal lines and undermines Nigeria's fight against insecurity.

He linked this concern to Nigeria's recent ranking on the global terror index, highlighting the country's ongoing struggle with terrorism and rising civilian casualties. The ADC proposed a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism, including the establishment of a special court for swift prosecution of offenders and a multi-layered strategy focusing on intelligence gathering and regional cooperation.

Abdullahi stressed that terrorists would be treated strictly as enemies, with clear consequences for acts of violence.
