ADC Urges INEC to Ensure Timely PVC Distribution

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish a clear nationwide timetable for the production, distribution, and collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). The ADC warned that administrative delays should not disenfranchise any Nigerian who has successfully registered.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party stressed that millions of Nigerians deserve certainty about the availability of their PVCs. The ADC criticized the current situation where registered voters are left searching for their cards, equating it to disenfranchisement.

The party requested that INEC disclose the number of newly registered voters, PVCs produced, and designated collection centers. The ADC plans to mobilize its structures nationwide to monitor PVC distribution and document complaints from voters unable to obtain their cards.

The urgency of this matter is heightened as general elections approach, with the ADC emphasizing that every unavailable PVC represents a citizen's voice at risk of being silenced.
