Adebayo Adedamola Emerges Winner of Osun PDP Governorship Primary

Adebayo Adedamola, also known as Fryo, emerged as the People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the August 8, 2026, governorship election in Osun State after securing 919 votes in the primary held in Osogbo. The primary was overseen by Humphrei Abba, the chairman of the primary election committee.

Adebayo's victory was clear with 957 accredited ballots, while 20 votes were void due to a candidate's withdrawal. Governor Ademola Adelek had resigned from the party earlier, and despite his announcement, his name appeared on the ballot paper.

The primary was conducted according to established guidelines, and Adebayo's win was confirmed by the party officials.
