Adebayo Adedamola Wins PDP Ticket for Osun 2026 Governorship Election

Adebayo Adedamola, known as Fryo, emerged as the PDP candidate for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 8, 2026. He secured victory in the primaries held in Osogbo with 919 votes out of 957 accredited ballots.

His main opponent, Ademola Adeleke, reportedly withdrew from the race, leaving Adebayo as the sole candidate. Despite Adeleke's announced resignation from the party, his name remained on the ballot.

The PDP leadership in Osun had postponed the primaries due to a leadership crisis but proceeded with the election, resulting in Adebayo's victory.
