Adebayo Demands Probe and Compensation After Kano Fire

Princ Adewol Adebayo, a chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), expressed deep sympathy for the people of Kano State following a tragic fire outbreak at the Singer Market that destroyed property worth millions of naira and reportedly claimed several lives. In a statement, Adebayo described the incident as unfortunate and deeply saddening, emphasizing the economic importance of Kano, not just for Nigeria but for the wider Sahel region.

The fire, which occurred a day ago, razed several shops and left traders devastated, with eyewitness accounts indicating that the fire spread rapidly, making it difficult for traders to salvage their goods. Adebayo lamented the recurring nature of fire outbreaks in markets across the country, raising serious concerns about the adequacy of fire prevention infrastructure.
