Adeleke Reaches Out to Oyebamiji After Election Victory

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has reached out to Bola Oyebamiji, his opponent from the All Progressives Congress (APC), after winning the governorship election held on August 15. In a statement on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Adeleke described his gesture as a “hand of fellowship,” aiming to promote reconciliation and unity within the state.

He asserted that he is now the governor for all citizens, not just for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Adeleke announced plans to establish a reconciliation committee to foster collaboration, inviting even his political opponents to contribute ideas for the state's development.

He expressed readiness to listen to Oyebamiji's suggestions but noted that the initiative to reach out should come from Oyebamiji, as he is the declared winner. Additionally, Adeleke expressed willingness to work with Oyebamiji and former governor Gboyega Oyetola, linking this to his support for President Bola Tinubu, whom he intends to back for a second term in 2027.
