Olubadan of Ibadanland Nominates Three New Mogajis

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has nominated three Mogajis—Wole Arisekola, a businessman and philanthropist, Kabiru Makinde, and Charles Durosaro—as part of efforts to fill vacancies in the traditional hierarchy due to the recent death of a High Chief and other chiefs. The nominations were made in consultation with the Olubadan-in-Council, as stated by Sanusi Akinkunmi, the Administrative Secretary of the Olubadan-in-Line Traditional Chiefs.

The statement indicated that the nominations were a response to the “glorious exit to glory” of the High Chief and other chiefs, which created vacancies in the lines of succession. It was also noted that the nomination for one remaining vacant position would be decided and announced later.

The Olubadan administration will provide further directives regarding the date and arrangements for the official installation ceremony of the nominated Mogajis.
