Adeniran: Other States Should Adopt Oyo’s AI-backed Basic Education Reform Model

Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, highlighted the importance of foundational learning in addressing literacy and numeracy challenges in Nigeria. Adeniran emphasized that despite the Universal Basic Education Act, millions of children in the country still struggle with basic skills.

Oyo State has developed an AI-backed model to monitor and supervise foundational education, ensuring a conducive learning environment. Governor Seyi Makinde has prioritized infrastructure development in schools, with a focus on improving literacy and numeracy levels.

Adeniran stressed the need for urgent reforms to prevent a lost generation of children lacking foundational skills. Factors such as economic challenges, cultural beliefs, and parental neglect contribute to the education crisis.

Oyo State has partnered with EIDU, a global education innovation leader, to introduce digital transformation in education, showing promising results in improving learning outcomes.
