Solomon Adeola Wins Ogun APC Governorship Ticket

Senator Solomon Adeola emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Ogun State, winning the primary election held on Thursday with a total of 304,055 votes. He defeated Abayomi Huny, who received no votes.

The results were announced by Mr. Wale Ohu, the chairman of the APC governorship primary election committee, at the party's secretariat in Abeokuta.

The primary election saw 343,292 registered voters, with 305,287 accredited voters. Adeola expressed his commitment to consolidating the achievements of the current governor, Dapo Abiodun, and fostering unity within the APC as they prepare for the 2027 elections.

He praised Governor Abiodun for ensuring a peaceful primary process and described it as an unprecedented exercise in peace. Adeola acknowledged the support and mentorship of President Bola Tinubu throughout his political career, noting that this marked a significant moment in the party's history, being the first time an outgoing governor openly unveiled a successor ahead of elections.
