Adeola Emerges APC Flag Bearer for Ogun 2027 Election

Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has been selected as the flag bearer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 Ogun State governorship election. The primary process, which took place across 20 local government areas, was marked by unprecedented participation and was conducted peacefully, without violence.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun confirmed that Adeola's candidacy was a result of broad consensus within the party, which involved consultations across various constituencies and local governments. The APC had initially seen interest from 700 aspirants for various positions, but a rigorous screening process was undertaken to identify credible candidates.

Adeola's grassroots machinery and goodwill were significant factors in his emergence, as he has built a strong reputation through various community engagement programs. His candidacy is seen as a strategic move to maintain unity within the party and to safeguard the socio-economic gains achieved under Governor Abiodun's administration.
