The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected Somali referee Omar Artan to officiate the Nigeria vs. Algeria AFCON 2025 quarter-final match.

The game is set to take place at Stade de Marrakech, with Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen's participation causing worry after a reported incident during training. Osimhen, who plays for Galatasaray, was involved in a heat exchange on the pitch with teammate Ademola Lookman.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has assured that the team's focus remains on the upcoming match against Algeria.
