CAF Names Alhadji Allaou Mahamat for Nigeria-Madagascar Match

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Chadian referee Alhadji Allaou Mahamat to officiate the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match between Nigeria and Madagascar, scheduled for September 25, 2026, at the International Stadium in Uyo. This Group D clash is crucial for Nigeria, who will look to capitalize on home support to improve their qualification standings.

Mahamat, a respected referee in African football, has officiated various CAF competitions and has experience with the Super Eagles, having refereed two of their matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria won both games, against Rwanda and Lesotho.

Following the match against Madagascar, Nigeria will face Guinea-Bissau on September 29, 2026.
