Super Eagles' AFCON 2027 Qualifier Fixtures Confirmed

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the fixtures for the opening two rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Nigeria's Super Eagles will begin their campaign by hosting Madagascar on September 25, 2026, at 4 PM at the International Stadium in Uyo.

Four days later, on September 29, 2026, the team will travel to face Guinea Bissau, with that match scheduled for 1 PM. These fixtures fall within a three-week international window from September 24 to October 6, 2026, which was created after FIFA merged two separate breaks.

Nigeria, a three-time African champion, is drawn into Group L alongside Tanzania, Madagascar, and Guinea Bissau, with only one team earning automatic qualification. Co-host Tanzania is already guaranteed a spot, making the competition for the remaining slot critical.

The tournament, branded Pamoja AFCON 2027, will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027.
