Super Eagles Prepare for AFCON Qualifier Against Guinea-Bissau

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that the Super Eagles arrived in Bissau on Monday ahead of their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Guinea-Bissau, scheduled for September 29 at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro. Both teams are currently level on points in Group L, having won their opening fixtures, with Guinea-Bissau leading due to a superior goal difference.

A victory for either team would provide a significant advantage in the group standings. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) appointed an all-Ethiopian officiating team for the match, with Tewodros Mitiku as the main referee, supported by Fasika Biru Fasika and Tigle Belachew as assistants, and Manuhe Woldetsadik as the fourth official.

Yaya Balde has been designated as the match commissioner, while Papa Bakary Gassama will serve as the referee assessor. The Super Eagles aim to improve their position in the FIFA rankings following a recent victory over Madagascar.
