Alex Iwobi Leads Super Eagles Against Guinea-Bissau in AFCON Qualifier

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, led by captain Alex Iwobi, will face Guinea-Bissau in a 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match on September 29 at the Estádio 24 de Setembro in Bissau. Head coach Éric Chelle has made several adjustments to the team that secured a 2-1 victory over Madagascar on September 25.

Wilfred Ndidi remains in the starting lineup, while Frank Onyeka and Taiwo Awoniyi are new additions. George Ilenikhena and Samuel Chukwueze have been moved to the substitutes' bench.

The defensive lineup from the previous match has been retained, with Stanley Nwabali starting in goal. Ademola Lookman also keeps his position, and Akor Adams will partner with Awoniyi in the attack.

The match will kick off at 5 PM Nigerian time, with both teams aiming for another win after their successful opening Group L fixtures. Ethiopian referee Tewodros M. will officiate the match.
