NFF's Ikpeme Urges Super Eagles to Focus Against Guinea-Bissau

Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, the Acting General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), emphasized the need for the Super Eagles to remain focused and avoid distractions as they prepare to face Guinea-Bissau in a crucial AFCON 2027 qualifying match on Tuesday at the 24 September Stadium in Bissau. The Nigerian team arrived in Bissau on Sunday evening aboard a chartered aircraft, landing at Aeroporto Internacional Osvaldo Vieira at 7.07pm local time.

Upon arrival, they were welcomed by Mr. Ifeanyi Obuneme Chukwuenyem, the Consul of the Embassy of Nigeria in Bissau, and Mr. Agwu Ojukwu, President of the Nigerian Community Football Association. Ikpeme recalled Nigeria's previous victory against Guinea-Bissau in a similar qualifier three years prior and stressed the importance of securing three points in this match.

He noted that Guinea-Bissau is a formidable opponent, referencing past encounters where Nigeria had to exert significant effort to secure victories. The match will be officiated by Ethiopian referees, with Tewodros Mitiku as the main referee.
