Ibrahim Gusau Denies NFF Interference in Super Eagles Squad Selection for AFCON

Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, has denied allegations of NFF interference in the Super Eagles squad selection for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). He dismissed claims of influential figures within the federation pushing for certain players to be included.

Gusau emphasized that the team selection remains the sole responsibility of the coach and crew, with the federation maintaining a distance to allow the technical team to work without pressure or interference. Former Nigeria international Segun Odegbami also cautioned against spreading unverified accusations.
