The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, refuted claims of unpaid bonuses for the Super Eagles, stating that the team has already agreed on new bonus terms for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The clarification comes after reports emerged from Rabat, Morocco, alleging unpaid bonuses before the playoff against Gabon.

Team captain William Troost-Ekong denied rumors of players demanding $15,000 per playoff match. The NFF and the National Sports Commission have agreed on a payment structure in line with qualification rules for disputed bonuses.
