Meta Activates 2Africa Subsea Cable System, Transforming Internet Connectivity in Africa

Meta, in collaboration with a consortium of global telecom partners, has completed the 2Africa Subsea Cable System, a groundbreaking undersea fiber network spanning 45,000 kilometers around Africa. The project aims to revolutionize connectivity for over 1.4 billion people in Africa and beyond, providing faster, more reliable, and affordable internet access.

Key partners include MTN Group, Orange, Vodafone Group, and WIOCC. Kojo Boakye, Vice President of Public Policy for Africa and the Middle East at Meta, highlighted the project's potential to drive economic growth and innovation through enhanced digital services.
