AFRIMA 2025 Nomination List Revealed: Juma Jux, Ayra Starr, OBO Shine in Music Awards

AFRIMA has unveiled its nomination list for the upcoming 2025 music awards ceremony, with artists like Juma Jux, Ayra Starr, and OBO shining. The event, scheduled for November 2025, received a record number of entries this year.

The International Jury shortlisted 343 nominees across 40 categories from Africa and the diaspora. Delani Makhalima, representing the Southern African region on the jury, praised the diverse nominee list as a testament to African talent.

The 2025 AFRIMA edition will be held in Lagos, Nigeria, from November 25 to 30, featuring various events like the AFRIMA Music Village and the main award ceremony. Voting will begin on September 10, 2025.

Notable artists like DJ Maphorisa from South Africa and El Grande Toto from Morocco have received multiple nominations.
