Afrobeats Stars Feature in 2026 World Cup Music Album

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, will incorporate a significant music element, showcasing the global appeal of Afrobeats. FIFA announced the release of the official World Cup album on June 5, 2026, featuring a lineup of international stars, including Nigerian artists Burna Boy and Ayra Starr.

The album aims to blend various musical genres, including Afrobeat, K-pop, and Latin pop, with contributions from artists like Colombian superstar Shakira, who returns with the anthem "Dai Dai." Other notable collaborations include Davido with Major Lazer and Canadian pop star Nelly Furtado. The album consists of 18 tracks and is part of FIFA's initiative to unite fans through music and football.

Burna Boy is expected to perform "Dai Dai" alongside Shakira at the opening ceremony in Mexico on June 11, 2026, with the United States hosting its own ceremony on June 12, 2026. FIFA President Gianni Infantino emphasized the album's role in connecting fans worldwide.
