CAN Confirms 315 Abducted in Niger School Attack, Prompts Statewide Closure

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) verified that 315 individuals, including 303 students and 12 teachers, were abducted in Niger State. The state governor ordered school closures until the new year due to security concerns.

The incident occurred at St. Mary's Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri Agwarra.

Parents raised alarm when some escaped students were discovered among the abducted. The CAN debunked allegations of schools reopening without proper clearance.
