CAN Reports 315 Students and Teachers Abducted in Niger State, Nigeria

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) released new data claiming 315 students and teachers were abducted from a school in Niger State. The figures were revised from 227 to 315 after a thorough verification exercise.

The chairman of the Catholic Bishop Kontagora Diocese, Bulu Yohanna, dismissed reports of ignoring prior warnings and described the reports as propaganda. Daniel Atori, a spokesperson for Bishop Yohanna, assured the public of efforts to secure the safe release of the abducted individuals.

The incident involved gunmen invading a school in Papiri Agwarra LGA on November 21, with conflicting reports on the total number of individuals abducted.
