Nigerian Cooking Gas Prices Fluctuate Amid Scarcity Concerns

The cost of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Nigeria is experiencing volatility, with prices ranging from N1,200 to N1,500 per kilogram depending on the location. Dealers are concerned about scarcity, attributing the situation to disruptions triggered by reduced supply and sharp price increases.

Dangote Refinery, a major LPG supplier, and the recent PENGASSAN strike have impacted the market. Ayobami Olarinoy of the LPGAR Union highlighted the challenges faced by the industry, including insufficient supply to meet domestic demand.

The price of a 5kg cylinder of LPG has hit record highs in several states, exacerbating the situation.
