United Nigeria Airlines Reports Sixth Bird Strike in 2026

United Nigeria Airlines reported a bird strike incident involving its Airbus A320-200 aircraft, which occurred during flight UN0515 from Port Harcourt, scheduled to land at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 3:45 PM. The strike affected the nose section of the aircraft.

Chibuil Uloka, the airline's spokesperson, confirmed that safety protocols were strictly followed, and the airline expressed regret to passengers and the general public regarding the incident. This latest occurrence brings the total number of bird strikes involving the airline's aircraft to six in 2026, with previous incidents reported between January and April.

Despite the challenges, United Nigeria Airlines assured that there was no compromise on passenger safety, and the affected aircraft was immediately withdrawn from operation for a comprehensive technical inspection before returning to service. The airline emphasized its commitment to maintaining safety standards and managing any disruptions to travel.
