Fagbemi Urges Collaboration for 2027 FATF Evaluation Success

On Thursday in Abuja, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, called for collaboration among law enforcement agencies as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Mutual Evaluation. During the opening of the Federal Ministry of Justice’s AML/CFT/CPF Stocktake Exercise, Fagbemi stressed the need for professionalism and integrity in safeguarding the nation against financial crimes.

He noted that Nigeria's successful exit from the FATF Grey List was a result of vision, discipline, and collaboration, and emphasized that this exit was merely a milestone, not the final goal. Fagbemi highlighted the importance of showcasing Nigeria's achievements in fighting money laundering and terrorism financing to the international community.

He urged participants to approach the exercise with openness and a commitment to national service, stating that genuine collaboration and accountability are essential for success. Fagbemi concluded by reminding attendees that excellence is a product of deliberate preparation and integrity.
